319 Weather patterns and microclimates in the June Lake Loop
While making stops along the June Lake Loop, we will look beyond the birds and into the sky to discover signs of our evolving weather and climate. We will explore spectacular landscapes carved by alpine glaciers and imagine what climates were like during the most recent glacial period more than 11,000 years ago. How does current climate change compare to those natural cycles and how is it impacting what we sense today? We will read cloud formations and other signals that tell us how to forecast the weather and anticipate what’s next. We will explore how climate is paramount, as every living thing struggles to thrive or just survive through such extremes.
